Merlin by HGG 固件仅做个人体验使用,请勿公开分享,感谢大家的配合!

Merlin by HGG

POWER SLIDE: - http://ROUTERIP/Advanced_WAdvanced_Content.asp
===========

These are the new TX Power level reference values:

   1% => 30mW (13.2dBm + 1.5dBm = 14.7dBm)

25% => 119mW (19.2dBm + 1.5dBm = 20.7dBm)

50% => 251mW (22.5dBm + 1.5dBm = 24dBm)

75% => 531mW (25.7dBm + 1.5dBm = 27.2dBm)

100% => 1000mW (28.5dBm + 1.5dBm = 30dBm)

By default the FW powerslide is set to 50% (24dBm), for more information about txpower usage please read:

http://quantenna.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/80211nPowerSettings.pdf

NOTE: This FW will increase wireless signal strength RSSI by 10-24dbm over stock/other FWs on 2.4 and 5GHZ bands, depending on router model.

ENHANCED MODE / MAXIMUM COVERAGE option (only available on FW version >= 380.57) can be used to gain an extra ~7-12dBm (2.4GHZ) / ~3-5dBm (5GHZ).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
===============

Local regional laws regarding RF power transmission and channels use should ALWAYS be respected when using this software.

* HW RESET/FACTORY DEFAULT AND MANUAL CONFIGURATION IS MANDATORY AFTER FLASHING FIRMWARE, IMPORT OLD CONFIG FILE FROM PREVIOUS FIRMWARE VERSIONS IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

** REQUIRED TO FLASH DIRECTLY FROM 380.59.1 WEBUI, ASUS/RMERLIN WEBUI OR USING RECOVERY MODE, AFTER 380.70 WILL WORK AS A USUAL FIRMWARE, MAY BE FLASHED DIRECTLY THROUGH WEBUI TO ANY ASUS/MERLIN VERSION AND VICE VERSA.

*** SUPPORTED: DSL-AC68U, RT-N16, RT-N18U, RT-N66U, RT-AC66U, RT-AC56S, RT-AC56U, RT-AC68U, RT-AC87U, RT-AC3200
NOT SUPPORTED: RT-AC88U, RT-AC3100, RT-AC5300 (due to ASUS bootloader lockdown not allowing overclocking)

RT-N66U require bootloader v1.0.1.4 or higher to support overclocking.
RT-AC68U (HW Rev. C0/E1) bootloader v1.3.0.X does not support overclocking.
RT-AC3200 bootloader v1.0.1.5 (not compatible with 380.70 due to 64KB NVRAM size limitation) is the only known version supporting overclock.
Both v1.0.1.6 and v2.0.0.3 are not supported and it's not confirmed yet if the newer v1.0.1.7 and v2.0.0.4 (128KB NVRAM size) support it, for now firmware will assume them as so but will require testing for confirmation, eventually after feedback, support will be kept or removed depending the results.

Increasing or decreasing the CPU frequency will always have effect on BogoMIPS information, if it doesn't change accordingly or shows a very low value, itmeans it's not supported.

After applying new CPU clock speeds, check BogoMIPS information on Tools_Sysinfo page for changed values to confirm bootloader overclocking support.

NOTE: Each system is unique and has different overclocking capabilities, two equal models can lead to completely different results, overclocking depends of several factors, such as CPU VID, DDR manufacturer/model and batch, voltage setting, hw revision, bootloader version, etc.

If your router is unstable after setting a new overclock configuration, it will require a lower frequency setting, remember system stability results will be seen only on long run, not in a short period / couple of hours.

If the system crash after setting a specific clockspeed and is not able to recover, a HW Reset/Factory default will be needed in order to reset CPU/DDR factory frequency.

(POWER OFF, press WPS button without releasing, POWER ON, wait until POWER LED fast blinking, release WPS button and wait for boot process)

**** SOME ASUS FIRMWARE WILL AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE BOOTLOADER ON BOOT PROCESS, MEANING THAT IF THE ROUTER WENT TURNED OFF DURING THAT PERIOD WILL RESULT ON A BRICKED DEVICE, THIS SEEMS CONCERNING DUE TO USER UNAWARNESS OF THE PROCESS NEVER MENTIONED BY ASUS MANUFACTURER.

This situation currently happens with RT-AC66U_B1, RT-AC68U and RT-AC3200 models.

Reading about it on different forums, router sudden death happening after a firmware upgrade process, this can explain the reason.
Always make sure waiting enough time so the firmware can finish boot process before power cycle the router, so it can update sucessfully the bootloader.

It is always recommended an UPS connected to the router to avoid energy failure bad timing issues under these circumstances.
